Globalization is a process that brings individuals from all over the world together into a single community connected by a huge network of communication technology. This facet of globalization has influenced HRM in today’s business sector. HR managers no longer have to rely on a local, constrained market to locate the proper individuals to meet the global challenge; instead, they may hire people from all over the world. Aside from that, the effective data-driven approach that is now widely employed has made HRM a simple yet successful job. As a result of globalization, HRM has become more efficient and effective to some extent, but it is still very straightforward work. (Varma, 2017)

Globalization in HRM Definition

It's critical to understand what's being discussed while discussing the effects of globalization on human resource management (HRM). As a result, it's critical to have a particular definition of globalization in HRM. When someone mentions human resources and globalization, they're referring to the application of human resource techniques to international business operations. This could entail hiring people from different countries and cultures at a company's main headquarters, as well as opening new sites or introducing new products in other countries.

 

HR Challenges in a global workforce

The most crucial issue is that these organizations are made up of people, and because HRM is the collection of activities that deal with the people factor in any business, this transformation has had a significant impact on HRM. Today’s human resource managers must guarantee that the right balance of personnel is in place in terms of knowledge, skills, and culture. Human practices that deal with managing a diverse workforce from all over the world are referred to as global HRM. As a result of globalization, HR managers confront the following issues:

ü Managing the workplace’s diversity.

ü Managing demands in third-world counties for more labor rights.

ü Managing productivity and quality.

ü More part-time and temporary work; Reduction in the workforce.

ü Dealing with work hours that aren’t set in stone.

The globalization of talent management necessitates the development of new human resource management tools, methodologies, and processes to facilitate global integration by providing essential coordination systems. (Scullion, et al., 2010). In today’s corporations, talent management has become fashionable. The best way to focus on global talent management is through corporate strategy, competitive fair compensation, and management participation.
